About the Simulation Lab

The Conway Regional Simulation Lab provides a highly realistic, hands-on learning environment where healthcare professionals can build skills, practice procedures and prepare for complex clinical situations before they occur at the bedside.

Through advanced simulation technology, procedural training and scenario-based education, the lab supports physicians, residents, nurses, students, and other healthcare professionals across Conway Regional Health System.

Each experience is designed to strengthen clinical skills, communication, teamwork, and confidence while supporting one shared goal: providing safe, high-quality care for every patient.

Procedural Training

The Simulation Lab gives learners the opportunity to develop and maintain procedural skills in a controlled environment designed for hands-on practice.

Training can support procedures across multiple specialties and levels of experience, allowing learners to practice technique and receive immediate feedback and repeat skills until they become more comfortable and confident.

For Conway Regional's Family Medicine residents, the lab also supports procedural education required as part of their residency training, including preparation for the American Board of Family Medicine's procedural competency requirements.

The Simulation Lab provides hands-on training across a variety of clinical skills and procedures, including:

Cardiac Life Support

Team Training and Crisis Management

Airway Management

IV Access and Central Lines

Suturing and Wound Care

Ultrasound-Guided Procedures

Our Training Spaces

Advanced simulation technology creates realistic clinical experiences without placing patients at risk. The lab includes high-fidelity patient simulators and specialized training equipment that can reproduce clinical conditions, patient responses and changes in vital signs in real time. Learners can assess a patient, make clinical decisions, perform interventions, and see how the simulated patient responds.

Technology also allows educators to create scenarios ranging from routine patient care to high-risk, low-frequency events that healthcare professionals may encounter only occasionally in clinical practice.

The Simulation Lab features specialized learning environments designed to support both individual skill development and team-based education.

  • Two Simulated Patient Rooms: Realistic clinical environments that allow learners to practice patient care and respond to medical scenarios.

  • Group Simulation Lab: A collaborative space for hands-on procedures, clinical skill development, and team-based training.

  • Classroom Space: A dedicated environment for instruction, discussion, and educational activities.
